Four Important Things To Know About Your Pillow!
- Remember, whether you sleep on your side, your back, or your belly, plump up your pillow and roll your head back into it by using the ‘No’ motion of your head. This helps the buckwheat to dissipate and fill up the neck cavity to your size, passively supporting it, while at the same time, lowering your head slightly so that your neck and spine become aligned. We like to say “Burrow your head until you get that ahhhhhh moment!”
- Never sleep with your shoulders on your pillows - this causes neck strain and muscle tension and puts you out of alignment. Keep your eye on that, as it’s important.
- If you have a pre-existing condition that you are trying to help - give the pillow a solid two weeks use, or even more, to allow your body time to adjust to sleeping correctly. The pillow is teaching your body to sleep properly, and your body may not appreciate the new, correct position at first. Give it time - we have had pillow users tell us it has taken up to even four weeks to get used to sleeping on their pillow, but that they now no longer suffer pain from back/shoulder/neck, etc. Give it time!
- We over-fill the pillows slightly at the beginning, as the buckwheat hulls will settle in a couple of weeks to be the perfect fit for years to come. You may absolutely love it the first time you lay on it, or you may find it a little too full. If you find it too full to adequately align yourself, simply wrap your pillow in a large towel, throw it on the floor, and do a little jig on it. This will speed up the compression process.
